BCA Syariah Supports the Development of the Halal Ecosystem at Istiqlal Halal Walk 2025

Jakarta, August 24, 2025 – PT Bank BCA Syariah (BCA Syariah) participated in supporting the development of the halal ecosystem through literacy and halal certification activities at the Istiqlal Halal Walk 2025, held at Istiqlal Mosque Jakarta on August 23–24, 2025.

Carrying the theme “One Path, One Purpose, One Ummah,” this event initiated by the Istiqlal Halal Center serves as a collaborative space across industries to strengthen halal literacy, empower the community, and build a sustainable national halal ecosystem.

On the sidelines of today’s Halal Walk, BCA Syariah Director Eduard Guntoro Purba stated, Islamic banks play a strategic role in supporting the growth of the halal economy as facilitators to strengthen the ecosystem through banking services and sharia-based financing distribution.”

BCA Syariah’s activities in this event include promoting greater literacy about modern Islamic banking products that support today’s balanced lifestyle and worship through BSya by BCA Syariah mobile banking (BSya).

BSya is also supported by convenient online account opening; digital payment services such as QRIS and Virtual Account; digital investment features such as e-Deposits, gold financing, and various other transaction features. Beyond regular banking transactions, BSya provides features that support worship and social activities such as online Hajj registration, zakat, qurban, and prayer times.

To further support the development of the halal industry, BCA Syariah also provided halal certification support for 50 MSMEs fostered by the Istiqlal Halal Center. “Providing halal certification for MSME entrepreneurs reflects BCA Syariah’s commitment to enhancing competitiveness, strengthening public trust in MSME products, and enabling them to capture wider market share,” Eduard said.

Istiqlal Halal Walk presented a wide range of activities, including the Halal Walk, Halal MSME Bazaar, religious studies, halal talk shows, blood donation, thalassemia screening, halal certification and assistance, as well as various competitions involving the public and different communities. The event targeted more than 50,000 participants, with the aim of enhancing Indonesia’s positive image as a global halal hub.
