BCA Syariah Together with BAZNAS RI Holds Financial Management Training for Mustahik Micropreneurs
Jakarta, 7 November 2024 – PT Bank BCA Syariah (BCA Syariah) as a sharia financial institution continues to strive to provide added value to the community, especially MSMEs in Indonesia, in order to increase their business capacity. Most recently, BCA Syariah together with the National Zakat Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BAZNAS RI) held financial management training for MSMEs which was held at the BCA Syariah Head Office on November 7 2024.
This training activity which took place offline was attended by the Director of Empowerment and Services of UPZ CSR BAZNAS RI Eka Budhi Sulistyo, Head of the BAZNAS RI Micro Zakat Bank Division Noor Aziz, BCA Syariah Corporate Secretary Nadia Amalia and 41 micropreneur mustahik in the East Jakarta area.
Symbolic Handover - Director of Empowerment and UPZ CSR Services BAZNAS RI Eka Budhi Sulistyo and Corporate Secretary Nadia Amalia handed over the symbolization of financial management training to representatives of mustahik (7/11/24).
BCA Syariah Corporate Secretary Nadia Amalia said, "This training is one of our efforts to improve the skills of mustahik in managing business capital assistance that has been distributed by BCA Syariah and BAZNAS in the customer zakat fund distribution program. We hope that this activity can have a positive impact on mustahik, so that they can be economically independent and have sustainable businesses."
The collaboration between BCA Syariah and BAZNAS is in line with the social goals carried by both institutions, namely creating economic independence through structured and sustainable training and empowerment programs. Through training, mentoring, and providing business capital, micropreneur mustahik are expected to be able to face existing business challenges and expand their business opportunities in the future. This activity is also a form of implementation of BCA Syariah's sustainable action as a contributive and responsible institution, especially in increasing literacy and inclusion of sharia finance.
"We hope that with this provision, mustahik can be able to manage their businesses better so that they can become strong and competitive entrepreneurs." said Nadia.
Director of Empowerment and UPZ CSR Services of BAZNAS RI Eka Budhi Sulistyo conveyed the importance of financial management training in strengthening the economy of mustahik who work as micro-entrepreneurs.
"This training is expected to equip mustahik with the skills needed to manage their finances more efficiently, help their businesses grow, and ultimately improve their welfare," said Eka.
Eka added that the collaboration between BCA Syariah and BAZNAS RI shows a real effort in empowering the people's economy, especially among people in need.
"We hope that this training will be the first step in creating economic independence for mustahik, so that they can be more empowered and contribute to driving the local economy," he hoped.
The potential of MSMEs in Indonesia is very large along with the market opportunities that are still wide. Based on data from the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs in 2021, the number of MSMEs reached 64.2 million with a contribution to GDP of 61.07 percent or IDR 8.5 trillion. In supporting this still vast potential, BCA Syariah also continues to support MSMEs through financing distribution.
As of September 2024, financing distribution in the MSME sector reached IDR2.04 trillion. This amount covers 19.51% of the company's total financing of IDR10.45 trillion. MSME financing is also part of BCA Syariah financing distributed to Sustainable Business Activities (KUB) throughout 2024. BCA Syariah's KUB financing reached IDR2.87 trillion, 71.06% of which was distributed to the MSME segment while 28.94% was distributed to environmentally friendly projects. Sustainable financing is BCA Syariah's responsibility in running responsible banking and providing positive impacts on society and the environment.

The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) is an official and sole agency established by the government based on Presidential Decree No. 8 of 2001 which has the task and function of collecting and distributing zakat, infaq, and sedekah (ZIS) at the national level.
