BCA Syariah and BAZNAS Empower Mustahik Micropreneurs Through Muharam Bazaar

Jakarta, 25 June 2025 – PT Bank BCA Syariah (BCA Syariah), in collaboration with the Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS), hosted the Muharam Mustahik Micropreneur Bazaar on 25–26 June 2025 at the BCA Syariah head office. The event is part of a joint effort to strengthen entrepreneurial capacity among mustahik micropreneurs—zakat recipients who run small businesses.

Through the Mustahik Micropreneur program, BCA Syariah and BAZNAS provide training in financial management and marketing, along with working capital and facility improvements funded by customers’ zakat contributions. The initiative aims to transform mustahik into self-reliant entrepreneurs.

BCA Syariah President Director Yuli Melati Suryaningrum said, “This initiative reflects our commitment to build sustainable community empowerment. We believe productive zakat programs can do more than meet short-term needs—they can help mustahik grow into independent business owners.”

BAZNAS Chairman Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, MA, added, “Our collaboration with BCA Syariah is an example of solid collaboration to encourage similar movement with other institution. We hope more organizations will channel their zakat through BAZNAS to help mustahik progress and eventually become muzaki (zakat givers).”

One of mustahik micropreneur, Susi Sulistia, owner of Cafe Mini Emak Gajah, shared that the program helped her business recover after the pandemic, enabling her to upgrade equipment, increase production, and strengthen product legality. “With the new equipment, our operations run faster and customer service improves,” she said.

BCA Syariah also encourages customers to give back through its zakat autodebit feature, allowing a 2.5% automatic deduction from monthly profit sharing on savings, current, or deposit accounts. Collected zakat is distributed to trusted zakat institutions in partnership with the bank. Further enhancing customer convenience, the BSya mobile banking app offers digital zakat, qurban, and Hajj payment services via its Islamic menu.
